State AG Investigations: How they Differ from Federal Investigations

Dear FCLC Members and Supporters,
The Federal Criminal Law Committee for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania is pleased to announce its next meeting and CLE program on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, beginning at 12:00 pm. FCLC Executive Committee Member Mike Lowe, a partner at Troutman Pepper, will moderate a panel discussion highlighting the differences between State Attorneys General investigations and federal investigations, including differences in grand jury practice, the State AG’s use of civil lawsuits, and the State AG’s use of outside counsel. Our panel of experienced attorneys will address these issues and more!
The panel will include:
- Michael S. Lowe (Moderator)
- Ashley L. Taylor, Jr. (Vice Chair of Troutman Pepper and Co-Leader of its Nationally Ranked State AG Practice)
- Zane David Memeger (Partner at Morgan Lewis and Former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania)
- Christopher D. Carusone (Partner at Cohen Seglias; Former Pennsylvania Chief Deputy Attorney General in charge of the Statewide Investigating Grand Jury Unit)
For those who want to attend in person, Troutman Pepper is sponsoring this event at their offices located at 3000 Two Logan Square, Eighteenth and Arch Streets, Philadelphia, PA 19103. The lunch will begin at noon. The CLE portion of the event will begin at 12:30pm. One hour of CLE credit will be provided at no additional cost.
For those who want to attend virtually, a login link will be sent to registered participants before the event to the email address used to register. Admission is $15 for FCLC members and $25 for non-members.
